Sara & Neil - The Martlets - Full House Refurbishment

"Following the purchase of our house last August, we set out to find a builder who could work with our architect and completely refurbish it. Fenix were mentioned by a friend whose neighbour had just used them and was very pleased. Our architect had not worked with them before and so we got quotes from them and two others that the architect recommended. Although Mark and Sam from Fenix were an unknown to us, we were immediately impressed with their enthusiasm, knowledge and professionalism. Their price point seemed very fair and so we started work on the house in November.

From the outset they were efficient, hard working and incredibly clean and tidy. They were very aware of health and safety and made sure all the trades were looked after.

Every single part of the work was done to the highest standard, so much so that the odd bit of plastering was redone , and switches were upgraded when Mark considered things not quite good enough.

In addition to the work being done to very high standards, Mark, Sam and all the trades were a joy to work with. They turned up on time every single day and never disappeared ‘to get materials’. They were patient with our constantly changing ideas and always gently suggested a better way if our ideas were not ideal.

At the end of the project, we used Fenix to upgrade the garden and driveway. This was also done to a fantastic standard and to current environmental rules and we think both of these areas really finish off the project beautifully.

In the past, we have struggled to find a great builder who turns up when they said they would and does an excellent job at a reasonable price and so finding these guys restored our faith!

We love this house, and it will be our forever home, but if we were to move, we wouldn’t hesitate to get straight on the phone to Fenix! "

Fenix turned a room into a bathroom for us and we were really happy with the way the whole team worked and the result. Communication was good, there were no surprises, it felt collaborative and straightforward, and all the team members were respectful of our home and generally nice guys. The finished bath looks great. The workmanship on all the different aspects was good - carpentry, tiling, plumbing - and I genuinely think everyone cared about doing a good job. Which unfortunately is not always a given. They also did some repairs around the house and turned a WC into a utility closet and problem solved some issues really nicely. We will definitely contact them again for future projects as we fix up our old house.
